I agree with this 100% as someone who writes code just for fun. Although I am way more passionate about my band, and working on being a music producer with my own studio one day.

I have had a lot of jobs in my time, and they were all nothing more than jobs. You definitely want your career to be something you are passionate about. 20 years in a shitty job will steal your soul.
